Greenville, SC – 3/1/2024 – The General Assembly of the State of South Carolina has officially declared the first Monday in March of each year as “Water Professionals Day,” beginning with the first observance on Monday, March 4, 2024, and continuing annually on the first Monday of March.
With the passing of this legislation, professionals working in all areas of the drinking water, wastewater and stormwater industries are honored for their dedication to serving the communities and residents of South Carolina.
The bill, sponsored by Spartanburg Representatives Max Hyde and Roger Nutt and supported in the Senate by Spartanburg Senator Scott Talley, was signed into law February 29 by South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster.
Greenville Water CEO Jeff Boss paid tribute to the 250 team members at South Carolina’s largest water utility. “Greenville Water’s team members are dedicated water professionals who take pride in serving our communities. Across every department and in every role, our essential colleagues are skilled experts in their fields. Together, they ensure superior drinking water for more than 550,000 customers every day.”
