Understanding Greenville Water’s 2026 Rate Change

A change in Greenville Water’s rates took effect on January 1, 2026, and will be reflected in customers’ February bills. For a household that averages 3,000 gallons of water per month, the increase amounts to approximately $0.79 per month.

This rate adjustment is necessary to support ongoing and future investments in Greenville Water’s infrastructure. As our community and service area continue to grow, so does the need to maintain, upgrade, and expand the systems that deliver safe, reliable drinking water every day. Rate revenue allows Greenville Water to fund critical capital improvement projects, including replacing aging pipes, upgrading treatment facilities, enhancing system resiliency, and ensuring compliance with evolving regulatory requirements.

These investments are essential to protecting water quality, reducing service disruptions, and maintaining the high level of reliability our customers expect—today and for generations to come. Greenville Water remains committed to managing costs responsibly while continuing to deliver safe, high-quality drinking water to the Upstate.
