Throughout the coronavirus pandemic, Greenville Water, along with the Environmental Protection Agency and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, has assured consumers that drinking water is safe to consume and use. The superb quality and reliable supply of drinking water are at the heart of this year’s Drinking Water Week (DWW), “There When You Need It,” held May 3-9.
“We recognize that our tap water plays a vital role in keeping our community healthy and safe every day and even more so during the coronavirus pandemic,” said David Bereskin, Greenville Water Chief Executive Officer. “We keep our community safe by ensuring the reliable delivery of the high-quality drinking water that is essential for drinking, hygiene and cooking.”
During this year’s DWW Greenville Water will emphasize the vital role tap water plays in daily life, the critical infrastructure that is required to carry the water to and from homes and businesses, and the important work of water professionals “behind the scenes.” Children are also encouraged to learn more about their water by participating in the water cycle coloring contest where they can win fun and educational prizes.
