The Witty Adkins Water Treatment Plant is among an elite group to reach this enduring, high level of performance!
Greenville Water’s Witty Adkins Water Treatment Plant received the highly prestigious “5-Year Presidents Award” of recognition from the Partnership for Safe Water.
The program is a volunteer initiative developed by the USEPA, American Water Works Association, and other water organizations representing water suppliers striving to provide their communities with drinking water quality that surpasses the required regulatory standards through treatment plant and distribution system optimization. The 5-Year President’s Award recognizes achieving very stringent individual filter performance turbidity goals over five years, signifying the outstanding operations and maintenance practices at this high-performing water treatment plant. The Witty Adkins Water Treatment Plant originally received the President’s Award in 2015 and was also a 2009-2020 recipient of the Director’s Award.
Greenville Water has participated in the Partnership’s treatment plant optimization program since 2009 and participates as a subscriber to Partnership for Clean Water.
“Maintaining the President’s Award level of performance for five years demonstrates the consistent, high-quality water produced by the Witty Adkins Water Treatment Plant every day,” said David Bereskin, Greenville Water’s chief executive officer. “Improving drinking water quality water remains a goal we will continually strive to meet and exceed. The 5-Year Presidents Award is an important milestone as we seek continuous improvement.”
The Partnership for Safe Water is a voluntary self-assessment and optimization program for the water treatment plant and distribution system operation. More than 250 utility subscribers, collectively serving more than 100 million people, are committed to the Partnership’s goals of providing safe, high-quality drinking water through achieving operational excellence in water treatment. Partnership members participate in a rigorous four-phase self-assessment, and peer review process developed by industry experts and are recognized for their commitment to delivering safe water to their communities.
