Greenville Water provides water to utility crews and contractors
GREENVILLE, SC; October 3, 2024 — Greenville Water assisted with the provision of seven potable water tankers from Kentucky at the FEMA staging site at the Haywood Mall. The 6,200-gallon tanks will be reserved for crews and contractors from out-of-state. For the next three weeks, the tankers will deliver approximately 30,000 gallons of water daily to Hurricane Helene recovery sites.
“Providing potable water is critical during this time while these crews assist us with returning to normal following the unprecedented damage of the storm,” said Jeff Phillips, Greenville Water Chief Operations Officer. “It is also a small token of our appreciation for the hard work they’ve done for our community this week.” Additionally, Greenville Water provided a hydrant connection, hoses and water sampling to ensure steady access to clean drinking water for the crews.
