Greenville Water Celebrates 26 Years of AAA Ratings from Fitch, 23 Years from Standard & Poor’s, and 15 Years from Moody’s Investors Service

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Greenville Water is proud to announce its continued recognition as a top-tier utility, having maintained a coveted AAA rating from Fitch Ratings for an impressive 26 consecutive years, from Standard & Poor’s for 23 consecutive years, and an AAA rating from Moody’s Investors Service for 15 consecutive years. This milestone underscores Greenville Water’s unwavering commitment to financial excellence, operational stability, and exceptional service to its consumers.

The AAA ratings from Fitch Ratings and Standard & Poor’s, along with the AAA rating from Moody’s - the highest possible credit ratings from these agencies - reflect Greenville Water’s robust financial management, growing consumer base, and prudent planning. Fitch Ratings has highlighted the utility’s strong operating profile and long-term stability; Standard & Poor’s has commended Greenville Water’s consistent fiscal discipline and strategic investments; and Moody’s has praised its healthy revenue performance and sustainable fiscal strategies. These accolades affirm Greenville Water’s position as a national leader in the water utility industry and a trusted steward of public resources.

Guiding Greenville Water through this latest achievement is CEO Jeff Boss, who took the helm in 2023, bringing a wealth of experience in utility management and a vision for sustainable growth. Under his leadership, and with the strategic oversight of the five-member Commission of Public Works, Greenville Water continues to thrive on all fronts. The Commission, a cornerstone of the utility’s governance for over a century, ensures that Greenville Water remains a financially sound, consumer-focused organization prepared for the future.
