Greenville Water Announces Hiring of New Director of Administration, Sustainability & Compliance

Dr. Robert Schmidt Joins the Greenville Water Team

Greenville Water is pleased to announce that Dr. Robert Schmidt has joined the organization as the new Director of Administration, Sustainability & Compliance. Schmidt will be responsible for the continuous process improvement of Greenville Water’s Administrative and Environmental Compliance programs and processes.

He will also coordinate Greenville Water’s federal, state, and regional public outreach, legislative and grants.

“We are excited to welcome Robert to our team at Greenville Water,” said David Bereskin, Greenville Water Chief Executive Officer. “He has extensive knowledge in environmental compliance and has an established national and international reputation as an academic, consultant and operational executive.”

Schmidt brings more than 30 years of experience to the team at Greenville Water. As a consultant, he has served as an advisor to numerous national public and private organizations. He also developed the National Association of Industrial & Office Properties position on the financing of regional infrastructure including water and wastewater. Additionally, he has advised federal agencies, including the U.S. Departments of Energy, Commerce and Defense, and the Environmental Protection Agency on an array of environmental compliance and technical population impact regulations.

Schmidt has multiple doctorates and graduate degrees, including law, sociology-demography and organizational theory.
