Celebrating 75 Years of Community Water Fluoridation
The American Dental Association is hosting a series of four webinars throughout the month of July. These educational sessions will cover topics related to community water fluoridation from the importance of health equity to evidence-based communications for lay audiences.
All webinars are free and open to anyone. You must register for each of the webinars separately by clicking and following the links below.
The Power of Safe Drinking Water and Caries Prevention
This webinar will discuss the history of Community Water Fluoridation and how this public health practice is rooted in health equity for populations across the country.
Tuesday, July 7 from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m.
Fluoridation Advocacy: How to Share Evidence-Based Findings to Lay Audiences
This session will offer a deep dive from different perspectives on how they have promoted community water fluoridation through a base of evidence and a platform that meets the community where they are.
Tuesday, July 14 from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m.
The webinar will include three mothers that are also researchers, dental leaders and environmental scientists. They will explain their balance as professionals and parents to connect with their community and encourage drinking optimally fluoridated water for the health and well-being of all families.
Monday, July 27 from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m.
Fluoridation Public Hearings and Grassroots Campaigns
The focus of this panel presentation is to learn from experts about speaking to audiences about community water fluoridation at public hearings, during grassroots campaigns, or at city council meetings.
Wednesday, July 29 from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m.
