Multi-Family Capacity Fee FAQ

What fees are changing?

Greenville Water has adopted changes to the capacity fee schedule for residential developments. These changes affect the way capacity fees are calculated for apartments, condominiums and single-family residences.

Why are the changes necessary?
  • These changes are necessary to remain consistent within customer class.
  • Residential units and their associated flows are the same regardless whether several dwellings reside under one roof or not.
How are fees assessed?

Multi-family apartment units and condominiums will be assessed by unit and not by meter size.

How will the revised fee be calculated?

Each residential unit, including condominiums, apartments and single-family houses capacity fee is calculated as follows:

  • $1,320 per 3 bedroom unit in addition to the water system meter and contribution fee.
  • $1,000 per 2 bedroom unit less than 1,200 square feet in addition to the water system meter and contribution fee.
  • $660 per 1 bedroom unit less than 1,000 square feet in addition to the water system meter and contribution fee.
When will this take effect?
  • These changes will take effect starting August 1, 2019.
  • Greenville Water Engineering will update forms and procedures, requiring specific building information, mainly unit information.
