Greenville Water Partners with Greenville County School District to Educate Students About Water Resources

Greenville Water is pleased to provide standards-based lesson plans and activities that feature critical thinking questions, hands-on demonstrations, academic vocabulary flash cards, and an engaging puzzle to educate sixth graders throughout the Greenville County School District about our water resources.

“The donation of these water cycle puzzles showcases their commitment to giving our students a unique and collaborative visual learning experience,” says Dr. W. Burke Royster, Superintendent of Greenville County Schools. “Greenville Water continually invests in our future, not just of Greenville County Schools but of the community as a whole. Their work has been critical to our area’s growth and vitality,” he said.

This collaboration will educate students throughout the county on the importance of water resources and encourage understanding of the efforts to provide clean, safe drinking water.

“Greenville Water values our important partnership with Greenville County schools to engage our future leaders and workforce in helping us preserve the high quality of our water sources and to continue providing the community with cost-effective, award-winning drinking water for future generations,” says Chief Executive Officer David Bereskin.

This project complements Greenville Water’s significant investment in Roper Mountain Science Center’s (RMSC) new Sustainability Center that was announced in 2018. RMSC Director Michael Weeks noted, “Greenville Water and Roper Mountain have enjoyed a long-standing successful partnership. We are grateful for their commitment to providing opportunities for STEM learning and a Sustainable Future for our community.”
