Greenville Water Infrastructure Helps Wade Hampton Fire District with an Important Achievement

Greenville SC- November 5, 2014- The Wade Hampton Fire and Sewer District has earned the top fire protection rating from the Insurance Services Office (ISO). Wade Hampton is one of only 85 fire departments in the country with a Class 1 rating.

The rating system is based upon emergency communications (10 points), water supply (40 points), fire department training, response times, equipment, operations & maintenance (50 points), and community risk reduction (5.5 points). When evaluating the water supply, ISO analyzes the capacity of the supply, reliability of the water and the distribution of hydrants.
